National Meet of Tractor and Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers were organized at the behest of Department of Agriculture and Cooperation (Mechanization and Technology Division), Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. Of India on January 16-17, 2010 in the Jacob Hall of College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, PAU Ludhiana. An Open House Session of All India Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers was conducted under the Chairmanship of Prof. Gajendra Singh, Ex-Vice Chancellor, Doon University, Dehradoon and Co-Chairmanship of Prof. V M Mayande, Vice Chancellor, Dr. PDKV Akola and Prof. N C Patel, Vice Chancellor, JAU Junagadh. Prof. Gajendra Singh took the views of audience and the house unanimously decided to have All India Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (AMMA-India). A committee was constituted with Prof. Gajendra Singh, Ex VC, Doon University as Convener and Prof. V M Mayande, VC, Dr. PDKV Akola, Prof. N C Patel, VC, JAU Junagadh as Members and Prof. Surendra Singh, PC (FIM) as Secretary. The committee prepared the By-laws for the association, constitution of association and looked far suitable candidates for the various positions and announces the same on January 17, 2010. Accordingly the Association was formed on January 17, 2010 at 1500 hours. Prof. N C Patel, VC, JAU Junagadh made a presentations giving the details of By-laws and Regulations, Advisory Council and Executive Council of Association. There were in-depth discussions on various aspects of association, By-laws etc and finally house adopted the same.
The All-India Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (AMMA-India) was established in the year 2010 on January 17 represents the machinery manufacturers of agriculture and allied sectors. The main objectives of association are:
• Augmenting and intensifying agricultural mechanization related activities in different agro-climatic zones.
• Promoting scientific development and technological up-gradation of need based agricultural machines and power sources.
• Providing technological coordination, management and advisory back-up to the members of AMMA-India.
• Providing effective liaison with Government organizations, NGOs and agencies sponsoring national and international fairs/meets and to establish institutional relations for implementation of appropriate policies and initiatives to promote growth of agricultural mechanization.
